Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadhyay was a famous Bengali writer. He was born on 12th September 1894. His parents were Mahananda Bandyopadhyay and Mrinalini Devi. He studied at Bangaon High School and later completed his graduation from Ripon College, now Surendranath College in Kolkata. He worked as the Headmaster at Jangipara High School and later at Harinavi Anglo-Sanskrit Institution. His famous novels include Pather Panchali, Aparajito, Aranyak, Debjan, Icchamati, and Chander Pahar. He passed away on 1st November 1950.
