Ans:- Gip was surprised because the shopman said that  there was a magic box in his pocket and Gip discovered it there.


(b) Why did the narrator fail to find out the cost of the magic items?


Ans:- The narrator failed to find out the cost of the magic items because the shopman did not pay attention to the narrator’s queries about the cost of the magic items.


(c) What items did the shopman show to Gip?


Ans:- The shopman showed Gip a magic  toy sword, magic trains that ran without steam, clockwork and a box of soldiers that came alive when ones said a magic word.


(d) What was the cause of the narrator’s amazement?


Ans:- The narrator was amazed because the shopman waved the box in the air and there it was, in brown paper, tied up and with Gip’s full name and address on the paper.

Ans:- The narrator thought that his son would be frightened because the shopman had put a big drum over Gip and the darkness inside the drum would frighten his son.

Ans:- The narrator again found his son in Regent street.

Ans:- For a second the narrator was at a loss. He was disturbed and damaged. His mental state was not normal.

One day I was returning home from school. At Station Bazar, Memari, I found a new toy shop. There were several kinds of toys displayed in the shop. But I found one of them calling the customers with a man’s voice. The toy looked like a robot. It had a smiling face. I went to the shop and asked the shopkeeper about it. He told me that it was run by battery. It costs one thousand rupees. I was greatly amazed by taking the Robot in my hand. I wished to buy it later.

Write a paragraph in about sixty words on two of your wishes that you want fulfilled.


Ans:- I have simple wishes in life, but I believe when we wish sincerely, it would become true. My first wish is to write a book when I get big. I love reading. Each time I read a book, Even I think I should write something valuable for others to read I prefer to write detective novel. They are so interesting and thrilling.


       I have another wish too, to be a Police officer, I always see the police man who help us from problem. They do their duty punctually and they serve the nation to far away from their family.
